What People Say About N-GENioUS

We have had the opportunity to work with some amazing families. Our academy has helped prepare students for the academic rigor of local public and private schools; while our realistic approach to learning has helped create life-long learners. Theory has transitioned to reality, as past students continue to share their successes, while current students share their “AHA moments” in and out of school. All in all, these successes have helped shape our identity and support the many reasons why we feel so fortunate to be in education.

Below are some kind words from just a few of our clients:

One of the most noble things that a person, or business, cando is to make a genuine and positive difference in the life of another human being. David Ware and N-GENioUS have made just such an impact on the life our son, Alex. From an early age, it was evident that the normal school environment was not well suited to Alex’s nature. For a number of years we homeschooled him, and when he reached middle school age, we began researching how to best transition him into a traditional high school situation. Fortunately, for him, and for us, we discovered a place where they understand today’s student and their needs.

Alex attended N-GENioUS Academy for two years, and the positive impact on his growth and development, self-esteem, and educational achievement was nothing short of breathtaking! Alex developed and discovered skills that neither he nor we were aware he had through the program, and also experienced an increasing self-confidence and self-assurance that continues to this day. In large part due to N-GENioUS, Alex was able to transition successfully into high school, and is now a freshman at a four-year college pursuing his life purpose as a burgeoning multi-level artist. As parents, we donot believe that Alex would be where he is today, both academically and emotionally, if not for the N-GENioUS experience and educational direction. Their individualized strategy-based approach to learning, combined with their focus on 21stcentury skills, proved to be exactlywhat Alex needed to be successful.

We are extremely grateful for, and feel especially blessed by, the positive and lasting impact that David and N-GENioUS have made in ourson’s life and future. You could say that we are extreme advocates of the program and its commitment to making a difference in the lives of students and families. Our goal, as caring and responsible individuals, is to let others know about this alternative educational resource within Orange County. By sharing our experiences, we hope more families will benefit from the services available at N-GENioUS.

Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter of recommendation for David Ware and N-GENioUS out of respect and gratitude for the accomplishments my son was able to attain from attending this school.  We were enrolled with N-GENioUS for my son's 7th and 8th grade terms of school.  I didn’t realize how much of an impact Dave had on my son during his time there but the lessons taught personally and academically continue to surface still today as he finds his way through his teenage years.

My son has always struggled through school, with lack of attention, lack of respect for his peers and teachers as well as lack of motivation.  He was in public school through 5th grade, which was a tremendous achievement in itself getting that far.  After numerous meetings and conferences with the public school staff regarding my son’s behavioral issues, the last two years at this school were torture for him.  He was labeled as a bad seed, the issue at hand was irrelevant and all accusations were directed at my son.  Granted, the impression he gave them left them with no other choice but to first reprimand him, but there is always a bigger picture and needed guidance to help our children grow.  This was not given in public school, at least not at that school.  After his 3rd grade teacher was commended by her supervisors for physically touching my son and verbally berating him during class, I began to see the school for what it really was and the reasons behind my son’s actions.  The teachers seem to no longer care about our children, it is all budgets and PTA events to raise money.  The very core of our children’s well being, mentally and physically, are of the least concern.  We tried home schooling for his 6th grade year and this proved to be too much of a task for me to take on while working full time.

I found N-Genious after researching numerous alternative schools online.  After speaking with him once, I knew we had found a caring individual that actually had the heart of a teacher and mentor.  It was a smaller, one on one environment that focused on a child's needs overall.  I immediately noticed small changes in my son, from wanting to eat healthier foods to having much more patience and respect for his peers that were a little different then he.  Over the two years he spent with Dave, my son learned respect, patience, kindness and to be honest, he learned to grow up.  Dave had a tremendous hand in helping my son personally as well as our family environment.  The countless extra hours Dave would extend finding extra resources to help my son stay out of teenage trouble was a lifesaver for us.  Dave was able to reach my son when no one else could.  As a mentor and a teacher.  He taught my son not only academically, but also in life, as he learned to make his way through his early teenage years.

Today my son attends high school and is getting good grades.  The teenage experimental issues have resolved and he is continuing to better himself mentally and physically.  He strives to achieve what he desires now, currently an avid weightlifter and taking the time to keep himself the healthiest he can be.  He surrounds himself with different friends, choosing to remain away from bad influences, and it has made a dramatic effect on him.  I owe this to Dave for his kindness and support, his guidance and friendship and for being able to reach through to my son and help.  It was a struggle for all of us and we didn’t think it was working at the time.  But I assure you, Dave was able to accomplish his goals of helping my son.  Dave never gave up on him, he did everything possible and then some, even though it seemed hopeless.  We thank you Dave Ware and N-Genious for the valued time spent at your facility, we appreciate all of the efforts more then words can say.  As I watch my son continue to grow into man, I am very proud of his accomplishments and goals and I know that N-Genious and Dave's unconditional support dramatically had an impact on this achievement.

Sincerely,

MRS. DEBBIE GIBERT - PARENT

My time at N-GENioUS has been wonderful. Before I came here, I had very bad grades in middle school and I did not have any friends because of my shyness. I did not handle things well in such a large school environment with so many other kids.  That all changed when I came here. N-GENioUS has a small environment of people so it is easier to socialize with people. I now have many friends and Dave has really helped my bring up my grades. I went from D’s and F’s to A’s and a few B’s.

Thanks, Dave, for the imagination you have shown in guiding my son and daughter toward more taking responsibility for mastering their school work.  You use considerable skill in presenting concepts in language and math clearly as they are growing in complexity.  And more important, you have been teaching the process of coming to grips with the nature of assignments and how to approach  and complete them. Neither my son or daughter has a strong independent interest in school subject matter, but both have made great progress in developing skills and self-motivation in completing the work on their own.

Your experience has helped my son continue his transition into the mainstream American school system, and brought my daughter to the stage of maturity and confidence to start and continue public school. You exercised a highly creative mixture of flexibility and sternness with my daughter in helping her grow into moving on in the world.  My son has also shown amazing progress in growth and maturity in handling courses.

For both children you have noticed areas of particular problems, such as understanding test directions, and developed approaches to address the issues. You addressed problems of learning abilities and approaches for both children before I noticed the problems.  Both my son and daughter have benefited greatly from your guidance.  Thank you for your work and contributions.

I first started working at N-GENioUS in seventh grade, beginning as a student in the academy. What strikes me most about my experience at N-GENioUSis how it prepared me to be successful in high school. For the first time, a computer was instrumental in my daily student activities. I learned how to keep an online calendar of my homework, build PowerPoint presentations, and work with technology based programs. All of these things put me at a huge advantage when I started my freshman year at high school. During my freshman year I was struggling with algebra, and Dave tutored me once or twice a week. I aced my final, thanks to his support. This fall I am starting my sophomore year and I am still in regular contact with Dave. Dave is the teacher who has made a difference in my life.

To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Dave Ware and his school, N-Genious Learning.

Our son Iain, 13 years old, has been attending the school now for two years; sixth and seventh grade.  We found Dave through a friend, and knew instantly that it would be a great fit for our family

When choosing a business opportunity, a church, a fitness club, a neighborhood  or a school for our child, Gordon and I always consider the people that we will be associated/surrounded with.  Simply put, Dave Ware is a class act.  He is patient, kind, principled, well-rounded, enthusiastic andgrounded in a society where each of these qualities is of utmost importance.    We, as a population, have our challenges here in South Orange County, and I have always felt good dropping Iain at the N-Genious door.

Iain is a very great kid (as they all are) but didn’t learn in environments where there were even 20 children, let alone the 43 that would have been in his sixth grade class at Vista Del Mar.   Iain is easily distracted, and sitting in his chair for extended periods of time with so much going on around him was a challenge.   Iain is a “hands on” learner and requires much individual attention and accountability.   Dave recognizes that each kid is unique, and he always considers this in his dealings with Iain and each of his classmates.

In our home, character has been of utmost importance.  Just like potty training, walking, talking and riding a bike, most kids eventually learn to read and write/ add and subtract.  However, many kids never learn how to treat people that are a little different, or how to apologize when they’re wrong, or how to work in a group.  Kids at the Junior High level can be pretty nasty and cruel.  It has been a pleasure knowing that every day Iain is getting lessons that will help him to make a LIFE….not just a GRADE.  I believe that these two years at N-Genious have been invaluable for Iain.

Last, I would like to mention the dramatic increase in Iain’s self-image as a result of being at N-Genious, and as a result of being apart from the “pressures” of typical Junior High kids.  These two years have given Iain a safe place to learn, to grow, and to develop his character.

Gordon and I would be happy to answer additional questions about Dave and his program.  You can reach us at home  (949) 481 1984.

Sincerely,

CARRIE AND GORDON DICKIE - PARENTS

Thank you for helping me over the last two years, Dave.  You have been helping me with organization, raising my GPA, and helping my note-taking strategies. Also, I would like to thank you for being a great mentor; it has really meant a lot to me.  You have taught me so much over the years and helped me succeed in school.

Before I came to your school I had many difficulties and was struggling to pass most classes but now I am doing much better, thanks to you.  My organization before was just throw everything in my backpack in a pile, but now I use folders to keep everything in order.  Before, my notes were focused on the wrong information, but now I get the key facts and get As on the tests.  Since I have been going to your school my grades have gone up from Cs and Ds to As and Bs, and I could not have done it without you.

You have been an admirable mentor and an inspiring teacher to me over the years.  You have been proficient about having a positive classroom and being supportive to the class.  You have a talent at explaining things very clearly and understandably to others, which is very helpful to me.  You are very respectable and trustworthy to me because you are truthful, kind, joyful, respectful, and responsible. You have been so helpful and friendly to me, and I just want to say thank you.

Dear N-GENioUS,

We just wanted to take a minute to thank you for your wonderful tutoring and home school program.  Our boys have enjoyed working with all of you.  Not only have they enjoyed working with you but they are also getting great results.  Their time management and organizational skills were the first things as parents that we observed.  Backpacks with finished homework placed by the front door, keeping their lives and assignments on their PDA's, beepers going off to remind them about piano lessons, reading time, papers due and even reminders to walk the dogs!  Now those are useful life skills.

Besides being a lot of fun, your project based learning philosophy seems to reach them in all academic areas as well. We were pleased to see the increase in their test scores after working with you for only four months.  That gave us the assurance that we needed to support your program.  Another interesting situation we noticed just last weekend, our son was an usher in his cousin’s wedding and was asked to organize the all ushers and their individual responsibilities.  He proudly said, "I used my group management skills by suggesting and not directing, and it worked!"

N-GENioUS, you have been such a bright spot in our lives.  I can't imagine how much better off our schools and children would be with this unique and excellent way of teaching.  We wish you great success in the future and feel lucky to have been a part of your program.

Sincerely,

JANNA AND KARCH KIRALY - PARENTS

He is getting straight A's, mastering time management, is very proficient on PC with internet research, works well on his own, taking good notes and studying hard.  We are thrilled at his growth in maturity and give much credit to Dave Ware at N-GENioUS.  Dave is extremely focused on getting his middle-schoolers technologically adept, thinking and researching independently, and assuming responsibility for their own time and workload.  He's fair enough with the kids, but demands that they produce on time, and requires quality for good grades.

I want to urge you to recommend Dave's school for any of your middle schoolers moving on from Armenta. It's an environment safe from adolescent crap (Dave demands behavior respectful to all at all times) and a can't-miss academic workout.I think it's fabulous. We are glad we found him, Will idolizes him, and I'm sure any parents you know who are looking for a school will be glad they entrusted their precious 'babies' to Dave.  They are ALWAYS our babies, somehow!!!
