How can N-GENioUS help?
By getting to know your child and the way they learn, N-GENioUS will develop and integrate an individualized learning plan for success. Our approach is as unique as the children that we teach. We use time-tested teaching techniques and actually take the time with your child. We have combined the best resources in the community and can use these to help your child grow as a student and person.
Why not take my child to a more recognized learning center (i.e.: Sylvan, Kumon)?
Most learning centers are only part of the solution. They assess the child’s academic knowledge and the use the results to simply teach to the test. The child may be able to redistribute what they learned for a test or maybe even a class…but did they really learn?
In comparison, N-GENioUS offers everything these more recognized learning centers do…with a lot more! We take the initial assessments and develop a complete course of action. We test the skills they learn in a realistic, project learning environment that will not only help them pass a test or class, but give hem a solid foundation to apply to life outside the classroom.
How do you assess my child's skills?
We have a battery of tests and assessments that get to the root of your child’s learning difficulties. We start with an introductory interview with both the parents and the child. We take the time to get to know the personality of the child as well as their learning behaviors. Then, through a well developed, nationally certified assessment procedure, we use a combination of computers and activities to assess the child’s psychological, emotional, and intellectual learning patterns.
Do I have to have my child assessed?
No. As much as we are committed to improving the academic profile of your child, we also realize there is more to learning than just assessment. We offer numerous opportunities for enrichment and give parents the option to not have their child assessed.
How soon will I see results?
Immediately. By offering an individualized approach to learning, you will see your child gain the confidence and the knowledge to be successful in and outside the classroom. You will see your child become excited about learning and they will look forward to their time at N-GENioUS.
I only want my child to be helped in one or two subjects…is that okay?
Yes. We work with you to tailor a learning program that addresses exactly what you want for your child. If your child needs help in just math or reading, we can do that. If you want a more general learning approach, we can do that too.
What if my child has a learning disability?
No problem. We have teachers and specialists that are qualified to teach any child, regardless of the disability. We also have direct connections with some of the most qualified learning specialists in the area. If we cannot help your child, we have no problem referring them to someone who can.
Who teaches my child?
Credentialed teachers, business professionals, ambitious young leaders, and respected community members…all combine to give your child a well rounded, professional learning environment.
Do you do background checks on your employees?
Yes. All our employees have extensive background checks done before they work with children. We have access to both state and national records, as well as national recognized agencies that make sure we know the backgrounds of our employees.
What do you expect from your employees?
Probably the same thing you expect from your children. Honesty, hard work, and a good attitude. We pride ourselves on only hiring people who are committed to education and have the passion and understanding to work with young people
Why is your curriculum so different?
Because it has to be! We live in a day and age where typical curriculum is not addressing the needs of children. More and more students are passing through grades without the basic skills needed to be successful and want that to change. Our curriculum is completely interactive the community around us and has the best of what other curriculums have to offer.
Where does your curriculum come from?
From some pretty talented people! We have employed some of the best local curriculum experts as well as some dynamic working professionals. These individuals have a knack for integrating real life and core educational principals into a highly interactive learning situation. In addition, they have access to focus groups and resources to fine tune their ideas into a fully functioning curriculum. These forces culminate to offer a curriculum that is unmatched in the industry.
Why Project based learning?
If a child cannot apply what they learn, then that child truly has not learning the skill. In order to make sure that students are retaining what they learn, we put their newly acquired skills to the test.
How are you involved with the community?
We have taken the time and energy to create a community network from the ground up. We have partnerships with a variety of working professionals, non-profit organizations, school districts, and local charities. Together, we have created an educational community with
Why do you work with businesses?
Why not? These companies have shown that they know what it takes to be successful in today’s market place. They are the future employers of many young people and have a sincere interest in a child education. Plus, why would we simulate a curriculum when we can give kids direct experience with the skills, the people, and day to day operations of the real world? In short, we feel that the opportunity to work with local businesses gives students the answer to the typical question of, “When are we going to ever use this stuff in life”?
Do you communicate with teachers in the area?
Yes. Through a series of community connections, we work directly and indirectly with teachers, principles, and district officials to make sure we are addressing the need of our local children. Furthermore with every N-GENioUS participant, we give a skill based assessment and learning plans to the child, parent, and that child’s teacher. We keep the communication lines open and include teachers in the learning process.
I am a certified teacher, can I teach at N-GENioUS?
Yes. If you feel like you would excel in our learning environment, please feel free to contact our resource coordinator. We are always looking for passionate, free thinking educators to help us shake up the educational world.
I am not a certified teacher but would love to help out? Can I do this?
Yes. We know that not all great teachers have a certificate and that life experiences can be some of the most valuable teaching tools. If you are interested in getting involved but do not have a teaching certificate, please do not hesitate to contact us. We have resource directors that have a knack for matching your skills and talents to many of our interactive curriculums. We are excited that you want to help and look forward to speaking with you. Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express
What if I cannot afford to send my child to N-GENioUS?
We do not believe that lack of money should be a reason for your child not to get help. We have a donation program and offer very generous financing options. Whatever your financial situation is, we have a well-priced, flexible option for you and your child.
Why did you name the company N-GENioUS?
Because all the other names were taken! Plus, we felt that by definition “ingenious” describe our company very well… resourceful, original, inventive, creative, inspired, and imaginative.
Is your learning center safe?
Yes. We have taken the time to ensure that your child is safe during their time at N-GENioUS. All visitors are required to check in to our front office and all students are carefully managed in a safe, non-threatening learning environment. Our facility is child friendly and we are current with all safety and health standards.
